Medicare Supplement Plan M - Savings over Current Plans

Starting in June of 2010, Medicare Supplement Plan M will become available. This plan is geared towards providing a comprehensive plan at a substantial savings over current supplements. Plan M is expected to be similar to Supplement Plan F, with some minor differences.

What does Medicare Supplement Plan M have in store for patients? This plan will cover 50% of the Part A deductible. It will provide 100% coverage of the coinsurance requirement for hospital stays over 60 days. It adds up to 365 additional days to hospital stays once Medicare benefit limits are reached.

The plan would also cover 100% of the coinsurance requirements in Part B for lab, doctor and outpatient costs. It will also cover the costs of the first three pints of blood when required. This plan also provides a coinsurance payment of up to $133.50 per day for any visit to a skilled nursing facility over 21 days in length.

When traveling overseas, this plan would cover up to 80% of emergency care costs. Like all Medigap policies, hospice care is also being added to Plan M.

For a similar premium price, Plan M could provide comprehensive coverage at a lower price. To make sure you get the right solution, you need to speak with a medicare insurance agent. Our company can help you make the right decision.
