The biggest draw to Plan J, though, is the coverage of preventative care that Medicare does not cover.

This allows the patient to go to the doctor to make sure everything is going well before a problem emerges. There is also a high deductible option that will lower premiums.

On June 1, 2010, Medicare Supplement Plan J will no longer be accepting new enrollments. Medicare is shaking up all of its supplement plan requirements. Plan J will still run for anyone who is enrolled prior to the beginning of June.

But there are two major losses to coverage. Both at home recovery and preventative care coverage are being removed from it. Hospice care is being added however. You need to review your policies and make sure your current needs are being met.
